August 21st Food, Fun, and a Double-Feature of Super Creatures!

We’re doing double-features throughout summer on Saturday nights and August 21st will be our last one! And we’re saving the best for last!

We’ll wrap up the Summer Reading Program by handing out certificates and prizes.

We’ll play games…

We’ll do some dragon- and dinosaur-related activities…

We’ll eat some great food (hot dogs, chips, and ice cream) and…

We’ll watch two cool dragon movies:

RAYA AND THE LAST DRAGON

and

HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON

(based on the bestselling book series).

Blackout Poetry: Great for Readers, Writers, & Artists of All Ages

Take control of a newspaper article’s words and make them beautiful and powerful through YOUR poetic interpretation of them. Great for writers, poets, and artists of all ages and skill levels–you only need to be able to read and use markers, pens, crayons, or colored pencils. Wear your mask and bring your adventurous spirit and creativity.

Folded Book: Heart on Zoom

Join Shannon on Zoom to learn how to take an old book and, using measuring and counting skills, fold book pages to create a 3D heart. Email or call the library, or message the library on Facebook, for link information. Free books for the craft are available by the library door in the bin.

Online: Introduction to Identifying Fraud and Phishing

Protect yourself! Join Director Shannon on Zoom to discover basic ways to spot fraudulent emails and phishing attempts by people trying to take advantage of you. Shannon will show you actual examples of phishing that the library receives far too frequently and will help you spot the clues that show an email’s not coming from whom it claims to be.
