Online Writing Group with Shannon

Every Saturday at 9am, join award-winning author and our Library Director, Shannon, for an hour of writing. Each meeting will include a friendly introduction,  link to a themed article and/or podcast and/or online tool to help you learn more between meetings, a writing prompt, and writing sprints to help you move forward and away from your pesky Internal Editor! Meetings will conclude with a brief Q&A and wishes for a good and creative week. All writers of all ages, all skill levels, and from all locations are encouraged to join.

Online: Writing Group

Join a group of writers from around the country in another fun writing group meeting! We talk a little shop, do a prompt, and a wordsprint, and focus on the positive in our lives and the importance and power of finding our voice. Writers of all ages and abilities are welcome. Find the information you need to join the Zoom meeting on our Events listings on Facebook (@harrislibrary).

Writers! The Highlights Foundation Offers a Free Online Class

As part of our commitment to help you continue learning and being entertained during the COVID-19 crisis, we are sharing a variety of virtual tours, live camera experiences at zoos, and online story times.

Have you ever wanted to learn about writing and creativity from teachers from the Highlights Foundation? They are now offering a free online educational opportunity featuring Sarah Aronson and Tara Lazar. Pop over to their site to see the previous videos and find out when they’ll next do a virtual get-together for greater interactivity. Special thanks to one of our Writing Club members, Jamie, for letting Shannon know about this great opportunity!

The Highlights Foundation also offers podcasts about writing, including this one with Ashley Hope Perez on Holistic Writer Care.
